GENERAL ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

1. The General Accountant, under the guidance of the Finance Director, will immerse themselves in various accounting tasks, contributing to the efficiency of our compact yet dynamic Finance team. This role involves supporting the Finance Director and Assistant Controller with daily activities as well as with the comprehensive requirements of monthly and year-end financial operations.

General Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Perform the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions and ensure all invoices are accurately and timely paid and in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures
  • Manage all aspects of the company’s travel program including all reservations, per diem payments and reimbursements in accordance with Company policy
  • Work with the Assistant Controller to manage the company’s purchasing requirements
  • Review and process all credit card transactions including maintaining proper internal control
  • Perform general account analysis and account reconciliation on an ongoing basis
  • Perform accounts receivable, including billing, payment processing, producing statements of account and collections as necessary
  • Process bank deposits, including trips to the bank
  • Provide ad hoc financial support for special projects as required


General Accountant Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and applications
  • 4 plus years practical accounting experience
  • Strong MS office skills (especially Excel)
  • Experience with financial and operations software
  • Sage Construction & Real Estate software a definite plus
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with superior time management skills

2. Seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant for a Texas-based position, tasked with the preparation and posting of international bank transactions and their monthly reconciliation. The role further entails managing the Travel & Expense system through the Concur expense platform, ensuring compliance with policies and timely processing of claims.

General Accountant Tasks:

  • Preparation of Payroll Sheets for our international entities.
  • Preparation and posting of Payroll Journal entries in the ledger.
  • Providing financial and accounting support to all our International entities including India entities also.
  • Organize information for external accountants to complete the local STAT requirements.
  • Compile and disperse all invoices via Coupa (Accounts Payable system) for our international entities including India entities.
  • Respond to supplier enquiries and reconcile statements, research and correct discrepancies.
  • Preparing and posting Month end Journals (Depreciation, Accrual, Prepaid, VAT) for International/Local entities.
  • Facilitate monthly and quarterly VAT returns International & India.
  • Assisting in International Compliance.
  • Assist in the US audit process on a requirement basis.
  • Prepare the month end reconciliation for the Balance sheet accounts for International owned accounts and India entities.
  • Assisting in day to day India Finance Activity.

General Accountant Educations and Qualifications:

  • CA, CPA or CWA, Equivalent Masters degree, with 2+ years of post-qualification experience in Month end closing of Books of accounts/ working on various Sub-ledgers/ GL Accounting/ Balance sheet Reconciliation & Reporting, Bank reconciliation statement.
  • Strong Payroll background.

  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvement/change management across an organization is a plus.

4. As a key member of the accounting team under the Assistant Controller, the General Accountant engages in a variety of critical financial operations. Their responsibilities encompass managing Capital Assets and Intercompany transactions, overseeing check runs, cash reconciliation, and handling month-end accruals. In addition to these duties, the General Accountant supports the Accounts Receivables and Payables analysts, stepping in as a substitute during absences. With a comprehensive understanding of Journal Entries, and expertise in both general and sub-ledger reconciliations, this role is pivotal in delivering reports with utmost accuracy and completeness. The General Accountant collaborates on special projects as directed by the Assistant Controller and Finance Director, ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and housekeeping standards. General Accountant Functions:

  • Processing Account Payables invoices

General Accountant Requirements and Educations:

5. The General Accountant will be in charge of the company's account entries, paperwork, payments, and financing. You may manage administrative and other accounting personnel, but your major role is to handle and record internal financial transactions as well as financial transactions with clients and affiliates of the corporation.

General Accountant Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for accounting, report issuance and financial analysis of the group's overseas business;
  • Participate in business process management and end-to-end financial process design, and establish standard and efficient process-based financial solutions;
  • Combining SSC responsibilities and process design, assist in the design of overseas SSC organizational structure and job responsibilities to ensure efficient operation;
  • Assist in the creation of overseas SSC operation mechanisms (such as accounting system, work review system, new business access mechanism, etc.) and continue to optimize;
  • Assist in the creation of the SSC’s knowledge management system and employee training system.


General Accountant Experience and Educations:

  • 5 years+ of working experience in large-scale financial SSC, especially in overseas sharing centers is preferred
  • Comprehensive accounting experience, with the ability to design cross-module solutions and experience in promoting implementation
  • Proficiency in using large-scale financial software, such as Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion
  • Ability to learn quickly, to communicate across departments and to promote problem-solving, and to withstand stress
  • Financial sharing construction and management optimization project experience is preferred
