An Overview of Commercial Accountant Job Description Responsibilities and Qualifications
1. The Commercial Accountant will finance lead on cost-saving systems initiatives including leading out technology and processes improvement. Finance lead on key projects e.g. our EPOS upgrade, ensuring accurate gap assessment, comprehensive testing & smooth implementation of the new system.
Commercial Accountant Functions:

- Liaise with key stakeholders across the business to ensure financial/commercial controls are implemented.

Commercial Accountant Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or similar qualification) & 1-3 years min post qual. experience in a similar analytical role

2. As a Commercial Accountant reporting to the Finance Director and business partnering across specific areas of the business, your role will be to support the business on key decision making and strategy development through analysis.
Commercial Accountant Details:
- Support the Finance Director with financial modeling and analysis to address current business issues and needs
- Analysis to support business decisions and presentations of the specific channel and departmental heads
- Prepare annual budgets on analysis of P&Ls
- Consolidate local input on budgets and forecasts
- Maintain a robust margin control framework
- Effective business partnering across various departments
- Build key relationships with key stakeholders such as FP&A, financial accounting, costing, operations, manufacturing etc
Commercial Accountant Skills, Experience, Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced management accounting and/or commercial finance role
- Actively studying towards or nearing the full qualification of CIMA/ACCA
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills with significant knowledge of systems such as SAP

3. This rapidly growing business in Liverpool is looking for a Commercial Accountant to join the business in a role that can offer strategic exposure at a senior level. Ensure all final bid submissions are subject to rigorous scrutiny by producing detailed financial analysis of business plans for review by the Head of Commercial Finance.
Commercial Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Produce financial projections for commercial projects, working closely with sales teams
- Create project schedules to support bid submissions
- Analysis of cost drivers within multiple contracts, including balance sheet and cash flow forecasts
- Challenge assumptions from sales & bid writing teams, providing alternative financial scenarios
- Develop new processes & procedures in line with business reporting standards
Commercial Accountant Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ideally ACA/ ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant (or equivalent)
- Experienced Finance Modeller with advanced Excel skills
- Experience working on complex excel spreadsheets, with the ability to manipulate large quantities of data
- Proven track record or providing rigorous analysis of bid submissions & challenging senior internal stakeholders
