WHAT DOES AN EDUCATION CONSULTANT DO?

This position assists in preparing workshops, field visits, and consultations with key stakeholders such as USAID, ADB, and other agencies while conducting mandatory gender, environment, and climate risk analyses. Counsel international students, assist with admissions and visa requirements, and develop a wide network through effective marketing strategies to meet KPIs for course enrollment and service fees.

1. Education Consultant Duties

  • Customer Onboarding: Ensure the onboarding of new accounts in the territory.

2. Education Consultant Details

  • Activity Coordination: Participate as a coordinating member of the core activity design team and support the Education Office team member who will be appointed as the Activity Planner.
  • Work Planning: Create a work plan for the period of performance that aligns with the milestones already approved in the Design Planning Document for this activity.
  • Documentation Management: Assist the design team in maintaining documentation of all design team and stakeholder meetings, decisions, and key deliverables produced during the period of performance.
  • Written Communication: Draft and/or maintain written communications regarding activity design, as requested, that may engage other offices of the USAID/Uzbekistan Mission, USAID/Washington, the Government of Uzbekistan, or other stakeholders.
  • Logistics Coordination: Assist in logistics and coordination of meetings with internal and external stakeholders, as requested.
  • Problem Analysis: Facilitate and implement tasks associated with the broader problem analysis, including assembling background information, research, and other materials, conducting a literature review and consultations.
  • Additional Analysis: Conduct additional analysis, if deemed appropriate (e.g., a modified Literacy Landscape Assessment).
  • Theory of Change: Support the development of a theory of change.
  • Document Quality Control: In collaboration with the core and extended design team, lead the drafting, editing, and general quality control of activity design documents, including the Activity Description and Cost Estimate and Selection of Instrument memo.
  • Participant Enrollment: Conduct participant enrollment and education meetings for assigned client group.
  • Presentation Materials: Prepare presentation materials, be familiar with mutual fund performance, and be knowledgeable of the defined contribution industry.
  • Retirement Planning: Conduct one-on-one individual retirement planning meetings with plan participants.
  • Client Relationship: Act as part of a client relationship team to deliver retirement plan services to ARB clients.
  • Communication Management: Maintain excellent and timely communication among all involved members of the service team.
  • Education Plan Development: Collaborate with the Relationship Manager to create, present, and execute plan-specific education plans for large clients.
  • Education Materials Improvement: Work with ARB education team to develop and improve education materials for plan sponsors and participants.

3. Education Consultant Responsibilities

  • Task Management: Provide planning and organizational support to help identify tasks, develop timelines, and otherwise efficiently manage the design processes.
  • Root Problem Analysis: Use the team’s initial conceptual analysis, develop a detailed “root problem” analysis, and review the full range of options for effectively addressing the identified problems.
  • Workshop and Field Visit Planning: Develop, prepare, and participate in workshops and field visits needed for the activity plan and design, e.g., a theory of change/logic model.
  • Stakeholder Mapping: Conduct mapping exercises of key and relevant stakeholders’ programs, funding, and geographic dispersions.
  • Trend Analysis: Produce trend and pattern analysis based on indicator data of USAID Bangladesh’s PMP, Performance Plan and Report (PPR) and other key stakeholders including the Government of Bangladesh’s relevant programs.
  • Document Review: Review Situational Analysis and other documents related to higher secondary education programming.
  • Concept Paper Drafting: Draft concept paper, make revisions, and share with the design team for inputs and comments.
  • Stakeholder Consultations: Conduct in-person or virtual consultations with Donors and other relevant stakeholders CAMPE (Campaign for Popular Education), ADB (Asian Development Bank), World Bank, FCDO (formerly DFID) and relevant UN agencies.
  • Concept Note Finalization: Collaborate with USAID/Bangladesh activity Design team, Program Office and Development Objective lead to finalize the concept note.
  • Mandatory Analysis: Conduct and assist in the completion of at least two mandatory analyses (gender, environment, or climate risk).
  • Program Description Writing: Write the program description in consultation with the design team.
  • International Student Counseling: Counsel international students and assist in admission to universities and colleges, while maintaining student visa requirements.
  • CRM Management: Create and maintain client information in the company's CRM system.
  • Lead Generation: Develop a wide network of students and generate leads through different marketing/promotion strategies implementation.
  • Content Creation: Create content and participate in marketing activities via social media to engage and build a prospective client base.
  • Sales KPI Achievement: Meet monthly KPIs through sales via course enrollment and service fees.

4. Education Consultant Job Summary

5. Education Consultant Accountabilities

  • Project Participation: Participate in project planning and project management activities.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze client data to identify interesting patterns and trends and to discern causal relationships.
  • Client Interviews and Focus Groups: Prepare for and conduct client interviews and focus groups with senior leadership, staff, and other stakeholders, conduct classroom observations, and review related student Individualized Education Program (IEP) files.
