Change Management Analyst Job Description Template
1. About the Role
Most people experience organizational change badly. Timelines slip, employees disengage, and ERP rollouts go live before anyone is ready - not because the technology failed, but because nobody managed the human side. The Change Management Analyst is the practitioner who closes that gap, owning the structured methodology that moves people from awareness through adoption. Working inside consulting engagements or large internal transformation programs, this role applies frameworks like Prosci and ACMP to assess stakeholder impact, build change networks, and measure business readiness across global matrix organizations. Results are concrete and tracked.
2. Position Summary
As the Change Management Analyst, you lead the people-side workstream of enterprise transformation programs, developing change strategies, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and tracking adoption metrics that determine whether new ways of working actually take hold. You operate within a change or project delivery team, partnering with sponsors, Communications, HR, and Operations leads across business units and geographies.
3. Why Join Us
Career Impact: Hands-on delivery of Prosci-aligned change programs for large-scale ERP and operating model transformations builds the kind of practitioner credibility that opens doors to senior Change Manager and Change Lead roles.
Business Impact: When stakeholder resistance goes unmanaged during a global systems rollout, adoption stalls and the organization absorbs the cost twice — this role prevents that by converting resistance data into targeted action plans.
Growth Opportunity: Repeated exposure to cross-functional sponsors, global matrix structures, and multi-stream transformation programs accelerates the path toward Change Lead and organizational design roles that carry broader strategic ownership.
4. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute change management strategies and plans that drive measurable adoption across impacted stakeholder groups.
- Conduct stakeholder assessments and change impact assessments to identify resistance risk and tailor mitigation plans by group.
- Design awareness and engagement materials spanning multiple formats to support understanding of new processes and operating models.
- Coach business sponsors and people leaders on their roles in sustaining behavioral change beyond go-live.
- Establish and support change ambassador networks to accelerate adoption at the local and regional level.
- Define, measure, and report on change readiness and adoption metrics throughout the program lifecycle.
- Partner with Communications, HR, and Operations leads to align change activities with overall program timelines.
- Develop process documentation and standard operating procedures to support knowledge transfer and post-implementation sustainment.
5. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Business, Communications, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 or more years of change management delivery experience, with demonstrated ownership of stakeholder assessments and adoption planning on multi-workstream programs.
- Proficiency in structured change management methodology such as Prosci ADKAR or ACMP standards.
- Experience developing and executing communication strategies targeted to varied audience levels within complex organizations.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret adoption data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including business writing, facilitation, and executive-level presentation.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver parallel workstreams to deadline with strong organizational discipline.
6. Preferred Qualifications
- Prosci or ACMP certification, or active enrollment in either program.
- Experience supporting large-scale ERP implementation or operating model transformation in a global matrix organization.
- Background in human capital consulting or HR organizational design with exposure to workforce readiness planning.
- Project management skills sufficient to autonomously coordinate change activities across multiple concurrent program streams.
7. Success Metrics & Environment
- Change readiness score, tracking the percentage of impacted groups meeting readiness criteria at each program gate.
- Adoption rate at 30 and 90 days post go-live, measured against defined behavioral change targets per stakeholder group.
- Resistance incident rate, counting the number of escalated resistance cases per program phase relative to baseline.
- Ambassador network coverage, measuring the percentage of impacted business units with an active change champion in place.
- Stakeholder engagement completion rate, reflecting the proportion of planned assessments and touchpoints delivered on schedule.
- Typical tools: Change tracking and reporting (commonly SharePoint and MS Teams); presentation and visualization (commonly PowerPoint and Visio).
8. Compensation & Benefits (US Market Benchmark)
- Base Salary Range: $75,000 to $105,000 annually, depending on experience and geography.
- Bonus: 5% to 12% annual performance bonus, common in consulting and enterprise program environments.
- Equity: Equity uncommon at this level outside of startup or pre-IPO consulting firms.
- Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage; employer contribution varies by organization.
- PTO: 15 to 20 days annually, plus federal holidays and occasional program-related flexibility.
