1. We are in search of an Academic Administrator who will play a pivotal role in guiding students through their respective courses, offering support with coursework as needed. The ideal candidate will possess experience in working with high-needs students, complementing the efforts of our special education tutor who is available several times a week to assist a specific group of students with IEPs. Your expertise in this area will be invaluable in ensuring all students receive the support and resources they need to thrive academically.
Academic Administrator Duties and Responsibilities:
- Focused on guiding students through their individual academic journeys, offering help with coursework and specialized assistance for high-needs students, in collaboration with a special education tutor.
- Actively mentoring students towards achieving their educational aspirations, fostering a supportive and motivational environment.
- Encouraging students to grasp the importance and value of education, instilling a sense of purpose and direction in their academic endeavors.
- Handling essential administrative tasks such as course enrollment and monitoring students' progress to ensure they stay on track for graduation, particularly in a self-paced educational setting.
- Ensuring students maintain pace with their coursework, both within the program and in relation to their home institutions, supporting early graduation for goal-oriented students.

Academic Administrator Requirements and Qualifications:
- Liaise with parents and send regular updates on academic progress
- Will have 3-5 years’ experience working with teenagers in a classroom setting
- Will feel confident in their ability to manage their time effectively 50% administrative tasks and 50% working with students.
- Will feel confident in their abilities to set healthy boundaries with students.
- Feel confident in their ability to relate to teenagers who struggle with mental health and behavioral challenges.
- Feel confident in their ability to cultivate a learning environment where students stay regulated and feel valued.
- Not unusual for some of our students to experience outbursts of anger or frustration in the classroom.
- Ability to stay calm in challenging situations and have experience in de-escalating crises.
- A familiarity with Trauma-informed care principles would prove an asset to the right candidate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Arizona Teaching Certification in any Secondary or Middle School emphasis.
- At least 3 years’ experience working with teenagers in a classroom setting.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and level 1 fingerprint clearance check.
2. The Academic Administrator is tasked with assisting the Director of Curriculum in the daily operations of our summer academic programs, ensuring the provision of a nurturing, memorable, secure, and encouraging atmosphere for both students and faculty. This role encompasses the execution of various duties and responsibilities that align with the role's expertise, knowledge, and capabilities as may be assigned by the Director of Curriculum or their designated representatives.
Academic Administrator Roles and Responsibilities:
- Focuses on managing logistical and administrative tasks to aid the Director of Curriculum and educators, ensuring smooth course delivery and academic operations.
- Acts as the primary liaison between the administrative team and teaching staff, facilitating clear and timely dissemination of key messages, updates, and changes.
- Provides direct support to faculty members, addressing queries and requests to foster an enabling teaching environment.
- Ensures the availability and readiness of educational facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials, aligning with the standards and timelines required for successful course execution.
- Takes an active role in identifying and addressing potential issues, working towards solutions that align with the institution's goals and values.
- Develops and implements backup plans for academic resources, ensuring teaching and learning can proceed uninterrupted under any circumstances.
- Serves as a bridge between academic staff and other departments, ensuring cohesive operations and mutual understanding in support of educational objectives.
- Monitors and evaluates the delivery of courses and the condition of facilities and resources, advocating for continuous improvement in line with institutional standards.
