WHAT IS AN ASSISTANT MANAGER ?

As an Assistant Manager, you play a crucial role in supporting the overall organization, planning, and execution of plans, particularly within the realm of industrial engineering (IE). Your responsibilities extend to overseeing retail shop operations, ensuring adherence to store schedules and goals. Your role involves leading the IE group, providing resource support, and ensuring the high efficiency of all organizational works.

Need-to-Know Overview of an Assistant Manager

1. Assistant Manager Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead IE group, and provide resource support, ensure high efficiency of all works in the organization.          
  • Import the required equipment according to the technical transformation requirements and evaluate the feasibility of the project.          
  • Assist manufacturing to achieve KPI indicators related to factory cost.            
  • Track and push forward special projects, and promote reduction of manufacturing cost continuously;
  • Make a plan for factory, workshop and production facilities, increase space utilization, arrange production lines reasonably, and plan logistics reasonably;          
  • Control the staffing and headcount, optimize and improve it continuously.          
  • Plant capacity planning and management.          
  • Promote and implement Lean Six Sigma system, lean knowledge, IE knowledge training and strengthen the concept of continuous improvement, and promote continuous improvement activities.
  • Lead and support the big projects of the plant, and complete the project objectives according to the plan.          
  • Work carefully, be responsible, and have initiative in learning and improvement

2. Assistant Manager Skills and Abilities

  • Good communication and presentation skills.          
  • Have strong leadership, collaboration and influencing skills.          
  • Have strong compressive capacity and can cooperate with overtime work.
  • Bachelor degree or above
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English
  • Major in IE
  • Master the professional ability of on-site improvement, layout planning, standard working hours formulation, production efficiency evaluation, staffing and headcount evaluation, etc. 
  • Familiar with common office software (Excel function), AutoCAD.
  • At least 5 years‘ experience in lean production or IE related, photovoltaic or semiconductor related industry is preferred          
  • Experience in leading or participating in plant layout projects is preferred.
