WHAT IS A CTO ?
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), you will be deeply involved in the daily activities of refining our trading software, while simultaneously overseeing the team and staying abreast of emerging technologies. Your role will encompass steering our technology in alignment with the overarching company objectives. We seek a candidate capable of efficiently managing and prioritizing projects, with a keen interest in nurturing and expanding a technology department within our youthful, driven, and vibrant team. The position also demands the ability to work autonomously.
Need-to-Know Overview of a Chief Technology Officer
1. Chief Technology Officer Functions
- Responsibility for the development and product team and ensuring efficient use of resources
- Defining and building out the Buying Labs technology stack together with a team
- Planning, budgeting, and implementing the technology roadmap
- Prioritizing and managing projects independently, based on agile software development
- Defining roles, processes, and responsibilities for the department and building up team accordingly
- Constantly monitoring and staying up to date with current technology
- Developments and integrating this knowledge into Buying Labs technology strategy
- Being part of the company’s management team and align technology goals to the company’s overall vision and strategy
2. Chief Technology Officer Qualifications and Requirements
- Professional experience in software development of at least 5 years
- Experienced in building and leading software development teams
- Worked in companies focusing on e-commerce and/or consumer faced products
- Skilled in methodical and goal-oriented team management as well as technical project management
- Very skilled and experienced in JavaScript development and extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of relational databases
- Solution-oriented thinker and hands-on mentality
- Even though you are a team leader, you enjoy developing things yourself if necessary
- Analytical and goal-oriented thinker
- Independent, responsible leader that puts the team first
