2. We are seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO), a strategic professional ready to drive processes, budgeting, reporting, and execution of all operational activities, targeting overall improvement and efficiency in total costs. This result-oriented executive will lead the development of operations to support profitable growth within the UK & Ireland and be a champion of improvement and change management, fully conversant with the latest thinking on lean, supply chain, Industry 4.0, and more.

Chief Operating Officer Duties and Roles:

  • A board director responsible for the strategic development of all operational activities in the UK & Ireland
  • Specific responsibility for Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Logistics, Health and Safety and Distribution with strategic operational responsibility in the independent business units
  • Direct responsibility for all operational P&L lines (material, direct labor, VOH, FPC & distribution costs).
  • A clear focus on year on year improvement of Cost of Goods Sold
  • As part of the management team ensure that business performance improves year on year (in line with agreed plans), Sales, EBIT and ROCE
  • Responsible for all efficiency development activities including manufacturing footprint development (MFP), Lean, VA/VE, direct and indirect material development
  • Responsible for sourcing, manufacturing and total supply chain strategy to ensure 'best cost' supply chain design including LCC development
  • Responsible for providing all operational reports required by the group and for establishing KPI's to drive the operational development
  • Ensure that capital plans are in line with budget and group strategy

COO Accountabilities:

  • The ability to quickly assess the operational efficiency of a facility and prioritize improvement processes.

4. The Chief Operating Officer oversees the daily operational functions of the Bank, working closely with the President/CEO to plan, organize, and manage activities effectively. Chief Operating Officer Responsibilities:

  • Re-conceptualize our operational processes through each step in the journey of a customer order, from receiving product into the warehouse to delivery to our customers’ homes.
  • Test and evolve space, processes, and logistics to enable our growth aspirations.
  • Lead our warehouse space strategy, including capacity mapping, process reengineering, new warehouse space requirements and optimal set-up, lease negotiations, new space designing, and renovation and/or move coordination.

Chief Operating Officer Requirements:

  • You are a seasoned warehouse logistics professional with at least 8+ years in a leadership role.
  • You have 5+ years of experience in pick/pack/delivery in a retail/e-commerce business.
  • You have obtained a Post-secondary degree in business or a related field
  • You have lead teams with a predominantly hourly warehouse-based workforce.
  • You have a proven track record of leading change, ideally having helped a small/medium-sized company scale.

The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for organizing, overseeing, and ensuring accountability across the different departments of Dirty Hands (Merchandising, Brokerage, Sales, Human Resources), emphasizing the development of a framework capable of sustaining substantial annual growth while safeguarding the organization's values and culture.

Chief Operating Officer Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build out function-specific SOPs, internal reporting and accountability to ensure industry leading execution and brand service.
  • Understand, optimize, and continue to build revenue generating programs within Dirty Hand's Whole Foods Market and Independent Retailer service channels.
  • Work with the Director of Retail Execution and Leadership team to build out and manage a National Conventional program.
  • Provide a roadmap and support to the General Manager to expand Dirty Hand's Headquarter Services nationally.
