This vital role will be under the direct supervision of the Chief People Officer (CPO/CHRO) of PTC, a recognized pioneer in the field, who is charged with devising a novel People Strategy to aid the company's shift to a SaaS model. The CoS will be deeply involved in groundbreaking initiatives aimed at boosting the People Team's efficiency, effectiveness, and strategic standing. The CoS is tasked with the strategic implementation of the People Team's objectives, overseeing performance, and serving as a consultative partner to the CPO and her Leadership Team. Chief of Staff (CoS) Functions:

  • Cross-collaboration and Leadership: Drive high-impact work. This includes oversight, management and coordination of activities related to digital HR, and process initiatives that help drive our new People Strategy.
  • Communication Crafting: Create organizational communication internally and externally in support of the CPO.
  • Organizational and Business Management: Drive the People Leadership Team with monthly and quarterly prioritization, while collaborating with the leadership team and internal partners to meet cadence and objectives.
  • Financial Management: Lead budget planning, forecasting and fiscal planning process for the team in partnership with Finance.
  • Special Programs/Projects: Support and participate in strategic initiatives or cross-group complex projects contributing to the overall organizational strategy. 
  • Plan, lead and facilitate Leadership and team offsite events ensuring materials are sent in advance, time is well spent, and objectives are achieved. 
  • Monitor and strengthen our business policies, audit and improve our capacity for operating our business effectively. 
  • Create and implement accurate plans and develop success metrics and communication approaches for these initiatives/projects.

Chief of Staff (CoS) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to leverage relationships to accelerate delivery, and to use these skills to facilitate connections with stakeholders across the organization. 
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communications skills, including expertise building out a comprehensive and compelling presentation and communication materials that span functions and groups.

2. The Chief of Staff will spearhead and manage strategic projects under the oversight of the Business Unit (BU) Head. This role includes establishing effective governance and dashboards to monitor and guide the activities and performance of the BU. It will also involve ensuring the strategic cohesion of all stakeholders. Additionally, the Chief of Staff will aid in defining the vision for the BU and facilitate communication with BU teams across different countries.

Chief of Staff Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the governance of the BU SI team including preparation of agendas, presentations, recording and follow up of actions, track and monitor the delivery of goals, cascade information, co-ordinate information requests and other support required
  • Ensure that meetings are efficiently run in content, timing and output
  • Prepare support to present key BU SI topics at AXA Partners Exec level, BU SI team level and within specific teams as required and provide all MC/Excom papers
  • Collaborate closely with teams on topics of shared interest to ensure effective preparation of meetings and presentation material
  • Ensure that decisions taken by BU Excom are followed up and implemented effectively and that all stakeholders are kept informed of decisions and actions in a timely manner
  • Strongly contribute to the strategy and work on a joint approach with all BUs and departments (Transfo, IT, Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance)
  • Realize or contribute to any specific strategic paper required from Group, CEO and other Exams 
  • Start/promote the launch of innovative initiatives that will change our business model
  • Regularly provide insights on ways to clarify the governance and improve the efficiency of the BU
  • Point out to the Head of BU and the BU Excom the operational and strategic risks that are being identified
  • Coordinate and simplify strategic projects leading, monitoring and following up deliveries in close collaboration with the Head of BU SI
  • Engage project teams, consultancy when allocated and all internal and external stakeholders

  • Deliver the SI communication plan in collaboration with the HR teams, the Transformation and Change teams, the Partners communication teams and local management and champions

  • Organize the management offsite meetings in collaboration with HR, town hall events for BU SI population, seminars and events to ensure a strong communication approach by the BU

The Chief of Staff will take charge of creating and maintaining internal company communications such as conference presentations and all-hands meetings, as well as external communications including board materials, investor updates, and business reviews, ensuring that all CEO-led communications adhere to our company's standards of excellence.

Chief of Staff Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify, define, manage, and drive execution and performance of strategic initiatives and objectives critical to the success of the business.

Chief of Staff Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • B.S/B.A. from a top school is required with 5+ years of industry experience, OR Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
  • 3+ years of experience from relevant industries: management consulting, venture capital, investment banking, or life science industries
  • Experience in healthcare, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical is strongly preferred, but not required
