- A high school diploma or G.E.D. or verification of completion of a home school program approved by the state, and six months of supervised programmatic in the group care of children.

- Must satisfactorily complete required annual training hours as specified by Licensing Standards.
- Within one month of after being promoted or beginning work, a minimum of 12 hours of training related to the care of children, including child development, playground safety, and health and safety issues, including child abuse and neglect shall be received.
