Performance Expectations

15. Associate Underwriter (Warranty Service Programs)
As the Associate Underwriter, this role manages the operational and commercial handling of the existing Warranty Service Programs portfolio across the DACH region, including policy documentation, profitability monitoring, and new program launches. The WSP profit center relies on this work to sustain broker and client relationships, support affinity risk underwriting, and coordinate cross-functional innovation projects across AIG Europe.
Work Activities
- Ensure efficient and smooth operational and commercial handling of the existing portfolio in the DACH region, including communication with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage related operational processes, update relevant policy documentation, monitor account and portfolio profitability, and support the responsible underwriter in taking remedial actions where required.
- Develop internal and external communication materials including presentations, reports, and newsletters.
- Prepare and participate in meetings with prospects, clients, and brokers to promote the WSP offering.
- Assist in the underwriting of affinity risks in accordance with AIG WSP guidance and contribute to WSP Europe innovation projects.
- Lead the process of launching new programs in the DACH region by liaising with internal AIG teams, coordinating with stakeholders, implementing internal processes, and drafting information notices and contracts before legal validation.
Technical Qualifications
- Degree in Legal and/or Business Studies preferably with an insurance background.
- Several years of insurance experience; ideally with underwriting experience.
- Strong technical, analytical, and commercial skills with good business understanding and high service orientation.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office and affinity for digital platforms.
- Convincing interpersonal and communication capabilities with solid and developable presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with a can-do mentality and true team spirit.
