The Cultivation Assistant is a pivotal role in the agricultural sector, primarily focused on assisting with the cultivation and harvesting of plants in both greenhouse and field settings. This role involves close collaboration with an experienced team of cannabis cultivators to optimize plant growth and ensure the health of the crops from seeding to harvest.


Need-to-Know Overview of a Cultivation Assistant
1. Cultivation Assistant Roles and Responsibilities
- Cultivate plants and ensure optimal growth from seedling/clone to harvest
- Assist in the recognition and response of plant pathogens and pests
- Maintain plant health through pruning and transplanting
- Manage sanitation and cleanliness of growing areas
- Assist in maintaining plant inventories
- Assist with collection and analysis of breeding and phenotypic data as needed
- Assess and help make improvements to plant cultivation areas as needed
- Comply with company safety, regulatory standards and Standard Operating Procedures
- Contribute to overall site organization and tidiness
- Aid administrative and facilities team members in other duties as needed/assigned
2. Cultivation Assistant Skills, Experience, Qualifications
- Experience working in a greenhouse, horticulture, agriculture environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of plant upkeep and care; background knowledge of Cannabis life cycle is a bonus
- Ability to work in environments with pollen and plant debris
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented and able to accurately keep records
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced setting
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet all deadlines as assigned.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
