26. Electrical Test Engineer Roles and Responsibilities
- Test Procedure Development: Create detailed testing procedures, record results, and maintain Test Reports
- Equipment Testing: Perform bench testing of equipment and full system-level field testing
- Specification Validation: Test, verify, and validate specs and requirements of the parts selected by the design team
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with domestic and international teams to develop testing procedures and resolve issues during validation and testing
- Infrastructure Development: Work with in-house as well as third-party power electronics designs to develop custom testing infrastructure and solutions
- Product Troubleshooting: Test and troubleshoot electronic products to component and subcomponent levels
- Design Enhancement: Propose design changes and enhancements to existing products to increase reliability, improve performance, and reduce costs based on the tests performed
- Tool Proficiency: High proficiency with EE tools such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, in troubleshooting high power, high voltage equipment in a laboratory environment, as well as in the field
- Failure Analysis: Define, troubleshoot, and initiate corrective actions for field failures as well as production issues
- Vendor and Validation: Vendor selection, specification development, and design validation of testing infrastructure
