WHAT DOES A LEARNING CONSULTANT DO?

Published: Jan 23, 2026 - The Learning Consultant conducts complex needs assessments, designs advanced curricula, and evaluates training programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role oversees and improves learning programs created by other consultants, leads instructional design projects, and researches emerging learning methods. The consultant also delivers professional training and provides coaching, mentorship, and leadership across all levels of the organization.

1. Learning Consultant Duties

  • Needs Analysis: Scope learning needs and recommend workable solutions for prioritised initiatives
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively work with Strategic Business Partnering, key projects, and business stakeholders to recommend available learning products and channels to meet specific needs

  • Course Management: Management of existing training courses/materials
  • Course Development: Creation of new training courses/materials in all delivery methods (eLearning, facilitator-led webinars, in-person, etc.)
