  • Report Preparation: Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation on Coats’s regional activities.
  • Action Plan Management: Follow action plans within the Intelex system and report them on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Data Entry: Enter data about monthly work hours, training hours, and other metrics.
  • Preventive Actions: Approve preventive actions within Intelex, and support other departments in cause analysis.
  • Safety Communication: Prepare safety alerts and ensure coordinated communication.
  • Audit Reporting: Report field audits periodically.
  • KPI Reporting: Prepare Occupational Health and Safety local and global KPI reports and coordinate presentation preparation.
  • OHS Controls: Examine MSA results, carry out OHS controls, and ensure they are signed.
  • Training Delivery: Prepare weekly training at the start of shifts.
  • Committee Leadership: Lead Health & Safety Committee meetings.
  • Instruction Management: Arrange safety and environmental protection instructions for all personnel, including visitors.
  • External Coordination: Ensure communication with external companies on environmental matters through correspondence, meetings, and coordination with environmental and ADR consultants.

23. Health and Safety Specialist Functions

  • Management Support: Provide support to management staff by communicating safety promotion plans, goals, objectives, and measurements.
  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with operations to gain commitment to initiatives.

  • Director Support: Support the Director of Health, Safety, and Environment on occupational health and safety, injury prevention, site inspections, audits, and wellness programs.
  • Policy Implementation: Assist with the implementation and development of Health and Safety Policies, Safe Work Procedures, Job Hazard Analysis, Incident Investigations, and Training Programs.
  • Risk Reduction: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and procedures to reduce risks and achieve zero accidents/injuries.
