Job Summary:

• Schedules initial contact with Cooperative member to understand electrical service needs and evaluate existing electrical distribution facilities.
• Assists with design of all line extensions, new subdivisions, system improvements and system maintenance.
• Calculates estimated construction cost and estimated revenue, as well as general costs for members and prepares and delivers cost estimates promptly.
• Fixes and maintains GIS Data mapping system and oversees system accuracy by using ESRI and NISC staking products and posting changes to the mapping systems from work orders and new services.
• Assists engineering with analyzing and completing construction projects including developing the work order packets.
• Upon receipt of work order or new service, designs requested services by preparing electronic staking and performing ROW flagging/field staking.
• Performs ROW field inspections, easement research and related support
• Performs system inspections which will include examination/documentation of pole-line condition, asset inventory, GPS data collection, pole tagging, joint use contacts and ROW condition assessment.
• Works with the Engineering Manager and Operations in planning jobs and monitoring the status and completion of work orders.
• Participates in continuing education to learn new technologies which may improve operations and develop recommendations accordingly.
• Confers with local County, City and State Highway departments and coordinate outside consultants to minimize service interruption and member inconvenience and maintain safety.
• Assists in coordinating and monitoring the overhead and underground electrical crews on construction, maintenance and outage assignments.
