• Coaches and develops HSSL fabrication personnel. 
• Assists, guides, trains or instructs these employees to perform job duties in a way that meets high standards of performance. 
• Coaching and supervision include formal and informal performance feedback, evaluations, and corrective actions and disciplinary procedures. 
• Gives written and verbal instructions to assigned employees on fabrication procedures and standard practices.
• Plans the utilization of manpower and assists with planning the bay’s daily activities to meet the planned operations schedule and budget.
• Takes immediate corrective action within the scope of assigned authority to address productivity, quality and/or safety performance issues.
• Shares responsibility with other members of the supervisory team to ensure appropriate supervisory or leadership coverage for all hours of HSSL operations, including all three shifts, weekends, holidays
• Observes, enforces, and conveys all company rules as well as Federal, State and local regulations including safety, housekeeping, and quality of work.
• Responsible for accident investigation and prevention of lost-time injuries.
• Analyzes various reports on productivity, expenses and losses in his/her area of responsibility and takes appropriate corrective action within the scope of assigned authority. 
• Utilizes continuous improvement metrics to identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Conducts one-on-ones, monthly team meetings, weekly toolbox talks, and performance evaluations for all assigned employees.
• Maintains all appropriate records (i.e. OHSA, Fair Labor Standards Act, etc.) and documentation for all assigned employees.

• Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands

• Ensure the manufacture/fabrication of products in accordance with the agreed specifications, outputs and efficiencies adhering to Fabrication order requirements especially in terms of quantity and delivery time.

• Drive continuous improvements in housekeeping within the Fabrication areas essentially that standards of cleanliness are achieved at Shift handover.
• Ensure continued compliance with all relevant Health and Safety regulations, implement work and plant procedures to minimise risk of fire, and maintain a safe working environment to minimise accidents causing injury to personnel.
• Ensure that the Fabrication Shift is managed within the context of the agreements with the trades unions and to minimise absenteeism and unessential overtime.
• Ensure that all product quality checks are undertaken as laid down in the quality procedure and that the NCR procedure is followed when necessary.
• Prepare concise Shift reports giving accurate PKFs achieved for that Shift and highlight any problems occurred.
• Attend morning meetings and report and follow up any issues affecting the performance of the Fabrication Department.
