Job Summary: 

• Support the Dentists and other Dental Care Professionals in all aspects of Patient Care.
• Carry out these functions following current standards for dental treatment and cross-infection control.
• Maintain skills at the current level, and undertake such training and development as may from time to time be required to maintain personal competency.
• Maintain professional registration, and work at all times to the principles published by the GDC in 'Standards for Dental Professionals'.
• Participate in all activities required by CQC registration.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all other employees and contractors at the Practice.
• Prepare surgeries, before patients, with appropriate equipment and materials, in line with current cross-infection control standards.
• Be with the dentist at all times in the surgery with a patient.
• Work with dentists (or other Dental Care Professionals) in moisture control and mixing of materials and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Work with practical information recording systems and computer systems in maintaining clinical records, taking notes by dictation, and recording actions and events.
• Tidy and clear the surgery after treatment, in line with current cross-infection control standards.
• Ensure the safe delivery of dirty instruments to an area for sterilization.
• Carry out cleaning and sterilization of instruments in line with current standards and procedures.
• Implement and maintain the standards required by legislation related to the registration of the Practice.
• Inform the Provider of any reported or suspected failings in the provision of care within the Practice.
