  • In-depth knowledge of anatomy, histology, and benign and abnormal cytology of all body sites.
  • Ability to utilize independent judgment and provide patient-focused care in a clinical setting through the accurate microscopic evaluation of cases.

3. BS in Medical Technology with 7 years of Experience

  • Registered (ASCP, AMT, NCA, or equivalent) Cytotechnology
  • Proficiency at computer entry/retrieval of lab results.

  • An in-depth knowledge of anatomy, histology, and benign and abnormal cytology of all body sites.
  • The ability to utilize independent judgment in generating test results.

4. BS in Cytotechnology with 9 years of Experience

  • Cytotechnology experience screening gynecological and non-gynecological specimens including fine needle aspirations.
  • Visual acuity to microscopically examine cellular material (both gynecologic and non-gynecologic) to accurately identify cellular changes that indicate a health or disease state.
  • Completion of cytotechnologist training in a program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and accredited by the American Medical Association
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) board registered/certification Maintenance Program Compliance
  • State of California Department of Health Sciences Cytotechnologist licensure
  • Experience with the preparation and screening of conventional and liquid-based specimens
  • Must follow department policies and procedures involving infection control, health and safety and other precautionary policies implemented by the department
  • Must be able to accurately screen 50-60 slides per day and adhere to department protocols
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with FNA clinic operations

5. BS in Clinical Laboratory Science with 8 years of Experience

  • Cytotechnologist certification through The American Society for Clinical Pathology, CT (ASCP). 
  • Current, passing proficiency testing certificate.
  • Experience assisting with Fine Needle Aspirations.
  • Able to discern cytologic changes present in a disease process, specifically malignant or pre-malignant changes to a high level of accuracy.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and work promptly, and make sound decisions working independently, and in a team setting.
