The Automation Tester manages the full test execution cycle from environment setup and test scheduling through defect tracking, progress reporting, and test summary documentation at project close, ensuring configuration management of all test ware and traceability to the test basis. Collaborating with project office teams and cross-functional stakeholders, this role strengthens QA outcomes by standardizing tools, logs, and documentation approaches and producing detailed analysis reports based on operational metrics.

Job Functions

• Develop and maintain test cases and automated scripts.
• Document software defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to the development team.
• Work closely with teams to define testing strategy, review test cases, and assess QA risks.
• Standardize approach, tools, documentation, and logs with the team.
• Ensure configuration management of test ware and traceability of tests to the test basis.
• Set up and manage the test environment before and during test execution.
• Schedule, monitor, measure, control, and report on test progress, product quality, and results, adapting the test plan as needed.
• Maintain defect tracking, provide defect summary reports, route defects appropriately, and write test summary reports at project close.

Education & Experience

• University degree with minimum 10 years of industry experience.
• Strength in Test Strategy, Test Plan, and Test Case development.
• Experience identifying, implementing, and using testing automation and defect tracking tools.
• Experience using tools to document requirements and scope.
• Strong analytical, QA, and testing skills covering both manual and automated testing.
• Ability to produce detailed analysis reports based on activities and operational metrics.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Excellent attention to detail; excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Automation Tester executes the full test engagement cycle from initial client consultation through test plan preparation, automated test creation, and progress reporting, ensuring traceability of testing outcomes against defined scope and requirements. The work directly supports client delivery quality by installing and maintaining automated testing tools, preparing test data, and communicating testing status clearly to internal and external stakeholders throughout each engagement.

Areas of Ownership

• Participate in initial consultation with internal or external clients to understand scope of work.
• Review software requirements and prepare and/or review Test Plans, Test Scenarios, and Test Cases.
• Perform Test Data preparation activities.
• Install and maintain automated testing tools.
• Execute and create automated tests and perform reporting and re-scripting.
• Record, track, and communicate testing progress and outcomes throughout the testing process.

Experience & Qualifications

• Up to 3 years of experience in Automation testing with experience in Automation Frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in testing projects creating test plans, test scenarios, test cases, defect reports, and status reports.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral; good analytical skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines; astute sensitivity to detail.
• Good client interaction.
