Job Summary:

• Choose goals to be addressed in Art Program sessions based on IEP goals and/or those set by the teacher
• Conduct baseline Art Program session to determine student’s current level of functioning in the Art setting
• Design a specialized Art Therapy Program based on current cognitive, social, emotional, communications and motor goals.
• Implement targeted art programs/activities in weekly thirty-minute sessions, either in group or individual settings.
• Provide students with an enjoyable Art experience which allows the opportunity for group as well as individual participation in the areas of use of materials, multi-media experiences, creativity, etc.
• Record student’s class or class’s progress after each session, including goals addressed, session plan, comments and thoughts/ ideas for next session
• Provide Art resources for classroom teachers including requested projects and supporting lesson plans and materials by subject areas, such as animals, seasons, holidays, etc.
• Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse/neglect of students as outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures

Job Summary:

• Respond to the psychological and psychiatric crisis of visitors to the Boulder Strong Resource Center using Art Therapy
• Use evidence-based approach to evaluate people and facilitate the suitable disposition, coordinating with family, friends, interested individuals and agencies whenever available
• Provide telephone and short-term face-to-face interventions to help stabilize visitors who are in crisis or who need additional support.
• Provide support and triage for visitors to the Resource Center.
• Conduct mental status evaluations to determine if visitors in distress meet the criteria for involuntary treatment.
• Perform timely intakes and thorough assessment of client needs to resolve the immediate crisis and enhance follow up for further stabilization.
