Job Summary:

• Implement established best practices for testing medical cannabis-based products.
• Analytical testing includes potency, heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents, and microbiological contamination using industrial standard instruments including, but not limited to: GCMS, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and HPLC.
• Develop and maintain relevant analytical Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, control charts and instrument certifications.
• Maintain product and testing inventory and comply with the inventory tracking system
• Assist in recommendations for scalable procedures as the company grows, support work area processes and product development.
• Support manufacturing, extraction, and formulation teams to meet production and quality related goals.
• Manage duties and responsibilities of additional chemists and technicians and provide training to project team members for routine analyses.
• Interface directly with third-party testing companies to interpret results, validate testing procedures and analyze data.
• Provide reports and answer departmental questions during regulatory inspections

Job Summary:

• Complex glass analyses using Atomic Absorption Spectrometer and X-ray fluorescence spectrophotometers.
• Process monitoring, analysis and raw material sampling.
• Responsibility for hazardous waste segregation using a fork lift truck, labelling and compliant storage and disposal.
• Operating as part of a multi-skilled team.
• Educated to a very minimum of HND level or hold a BSc/BSc (hons) in either Analytical Chemistry or Chemistry.
• A knowledge of production specifications / processes and company operating procedures, gained from practical experience.
• Computer literacy - comprehensive experience with the Microsoft Office programmers.
• Candidates will also be required to demonstrate a positive attitude to work and the ability to work under pressure.
• Particularly during the months of the Glass Melt campaign, a full flexibility of hours will be required, along with the availability to work overtime in order to meet business needs.
• Working knowledge of Atomic absorption and X-Ray fluorescence spectrometry for glass analysis.
• Experience of a high precision, analytical role and possess a strong foundation in 'wet analytical' chemical techniques (preferably involving high-value / precision made products) and experience in X ray Fluorescence spectroscopy.
