13. AML Manager (Financial Crime Risk Management)
The AML Manager is responsible for preventing, managing and mitigating the financial crime risks that may occur through the types of services we offer, transactions we process or the customers we onboard. A key member of the AML Operations Department, the AML Manager leads a team of AML Compliance Analysts responsible for CIP/CDD/EDD, alert resolution, case management, and SAR preparation. Collaborating with the AML Director and key business stakeholders, this role enables effective financial crime risk mitigation across non-bank payment services.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead a team of AML Compliance Analysts and manage team assignments, quality assurance, ongoing training, and management information reporting.
- Document new processes, workflows, and methodologies and update procedures.
- Communicate with key business stakeholders and prioritize activities within the team with ongoing assessment of key risks.
- Perform basic aspects of AML work including CIP/CDD/EDD, alert resolution, case management, and SAR preparation.
- Other functions as assigned by AML Director.
Qualifications and Experience
- CAMS, CFCS, CAFP, CRCM, or other similar industry-recognized certifications required.
- 5-7 years of work in AML function and team leadership.
- AML compliance expertise with experience in the non-bank payment industry as a plus.
- Hands-on experience with AML monitoring software and working knowledge of Actimize AML solution.
- Great communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to think strategically, adapt to rapid change, and maintain high work ethics.
14. AML Manager (AML Investigations and Supervision)
The AML Manager supervises various AML processes, which might include suspicious activity investigations, currency transaction reporting, global sanctions screening, enhanced due diligence or other AML processes. Based within the AML Operations function, the AML Manager oversees daily workflow, operational queues, and metrics while managing, training, and coaching a team of investigators. Serving as the Subject Matter Expert in AML, this role enables consistent, accurate financial crime detection and reporting across the organization.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supervise daily workflow, operational queues, and metrics for various AML processes including suspicious activity investigations, currency transaction reporting, global sanctions screening, and enhanced due diligence.
- Manage, develop, train, coach, and lead a team of investigators.
- Write and deliver performance reviews and provide continuous coaching to associates.
- Report potential findings to management verbally and in writing in a timely manner.
- Conduct, review, and evaluate findings using AML/KYC/CIP knowledge.
- Act as Subject Matter Expert in AML and provide direction and assistance on AML-related issues and investigations.
Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
- CAMS certification required.
- 4 years of AML experience within the financial services industry, including 2 years of people management experience and 2 years of process management experience.
- Strong knowledge of AML/KYC/CIP with excellent analytical writing, communication, and research skills including online search tools.
- 2 years of Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite experience with excellent organizational and time management skills.
