AIRFRAME AND POWERPLANT MECHANIC SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. BS in Aerospace Engineering with 4 years of Experience

  • An FAA Airframe and Powerplant License .
  • General working knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring equipment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees and military and civilian customers.
  • Must be able to work both independently and on a team and be able to work extended hours as required.
  • Experience on mechanical repair of vehicles, preferably aircraft -through technical training, apprenticeship, schooling, or similar experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an airport security badge through the local airport authority, if applicable.
  • A and P License.
  • Experience or working knowledge of mechanical devices. Prefer basic knowledge of aircraft systems.

2. BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of Experience

  • FAA Airframes or Power Plants License (A or P) preferred or ability to obtain license within two 2 years of employment in this position.
  • Must meet any other qualification standard imposed by the government contract not covered by this agreement.
  • Hazards Materials Certification (Limited/Task Specific)
  • CDQAR / CDI Certified (Formal Schooling Required)
  • Flight Control Rigging Certification
  • Hydraulic Fluid Sampling Certification
  • Aircraft Towing Certification
  • GSE Licensing (Formal Schooling Required)
  • Aircraft Turnup Certification (Limited/Task Specific)
  • Physical as required by NAVAIR 3710.1 Series
  • Valid State Drive License
  • Airfield Operators License

3. BS in Aviation Maintenance Technology with 3 years of Experience

  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations
  • Communication Proficiency, both written and oral.

  • Mechanical Skills- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

4. BS in Aviation Management with 2 years of Experience

  • An FAA Airframe and Powerplant License.
  • Must possess full knowledge and understanding of the detailed aspects of the job
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications and operations
  • Basic leadership, organization and planning skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees and both military and civilian customers.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance may be required.
  • Must be able to work both independently and on a team and be able to work extended hours.
