WHAT IS AN ACCESS MANAGER ?

In your role as Access Manager, you are tasked with safeguarding, enhancing, and optimizing the funding for our suite of existing and upcoming products. Your responsibilities include spearheading the creation and implementation of strategies for market access, contributing to the formulation and execution of pricing policies, and strategizing negotiations for new products and portfolio expansions.

1. Access Manager Roles and Responsibilities

  • Proactively create and implement forward-thinking strategies to ensure early and optimal reimbursement and access for upcoming products, positioning the business as a leading partner in healthcare and reimbursement solutions.
  • Craft and defend unique value propositions tailored to various payers and decision makers across both public and private sectors, including provincial and federal plans.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with high-level and influential customers, such as senior government officials, professional associations, community leaders, pricing organizations, and drug plan directors and staff.
  • Build trust and identify common objectives with stakeholders to facilitate the achievement of business goals.
  • Design and implement strategic plans for engaging customers to gather insights for reimbursement and business strategies, and prepare provincial payers for negotiations.
  • Assist in the execution of product listing agreements to secure timely and high-quality provincial reimbursement.
  • Guide cross-functional teams in the preparation and submission of reimbursement applications to private and public payers, leveraging clinical and pharmacoeconomic evidence strategically.
  • Keep abreast of legislation, regulation, and process changes proposed by government bodies, understand their implications for the business in a complex and ambiguous environment, and adapt organizational strategies accordingly.
  • Employ strategic use of clinical and pharmacoeconomic evidence in the development and delivery of reimbursement submissions to maximize product access and acceptance.
  • Utilize insights from strategic customer engagements to inform and refine reimbursement and business strategies, ensuring alignment with payer expectations and business objectives.

2. Access Manager Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree
  • 5 years of experience in reimbursement Strategy/Market Access in pharma industry
  • Experience leading market access strategies, product negotiation and pricing regulations
  • Experience monitoring evolving payer landscape and gathering insights to support payer & pricing solutions
  • Prior Health Economics experience
  • Familiarity with commercialization, market access, clinical trials and healthcare system regulations
  • Proven ability to influence senior level stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
