WHAT DOES AN ATTORNEY DO?
Published: May 16, 2025 - The Attorney acquires and applies legal expertise to support contract drafting, negotiation, interpretation, and compliance across company operations. This position ensures adherence to internal policies, and contributes to enterprise-wide legal initiatives and risk management strategies. This role collaborates with internal departments and external counsel to address legal matters and maintain alignment with business objectives.

1. Attorney Duties
- Client Advising: Advising firm clients and manage client relationships on legal and regulatory developments affecting the telecommunications industry, satellite and earth station licensing, U.S. and foreign spectrum regulation, data protection and privacy, terrestrial wireless licensing, and international regulatory advice to private commercial entities and foreign governments
- Team Supervision: Supervise a team on transactions and adjudications
- Client Management: Assist managing client relationships

- Litigation Management: Litigates and/or assists in litigating contested cases in administrative hearings during pre-trial and trial stages.
- Case Strategy: Tasks include formulating case strategy, drafting legal documents (pleadings, brief, motions, memoranda), conducting discovery, appearing at hearings, arguing motions, and trying cases.
- Rulemaking Participation: Participates and/or assists in rulemaking proceedings.
- Regulatory Analysis: Analyzing legal, regulatory, and policy positions and preparing comments and draft administrative rules.
- Court Representation: Represent and/or assist in representing the Office before the courts in appeals of regulatory agency decisions and orders.
- Appellate Writing: Writing appellate briefs and preparing and participating in oral arguments before appellate courts.
- Legal Advice: Provides legal advice and counsel to the agency.
- Legal Research: Research points of law to support positions.
- Legislation Interpretation: Interprets state and federal legislation and regulations.

- Pleading Preparation: Work with technical staff and outside counsel to prepare pleadings and respond to discovery requests
