Job Summary: 

  • Consulting with pathologists and performing proficiency surveys
  • Reviewing quality control and quality assurance programs
  • Making adjustments in policy and procedures, generating reports, and maintaining records
  • Maintains pre-analytical variation, which includes accessioning, specimen processing, and policies and procedures
  • Maintains accreditation with the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), and licensing for Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)
  • Ensures the laboratory is compliant with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations
  • Monitoring reports for the following: turnaround times of results, viewing critical results, testing volumes, lab site to lab site volume, peak time testing and accurate results
  • Participates with project/committee leadership for the Laboratory scope
  • Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives, preparing proposals, developing and performing parallel testing, and monitoring progress
  • Involved with investigation, implementation, and method review of new tests within the Laboratory Services scope
