• Visually inspects railroad locomotives, locomotive cranes, spreaders, overhead cranes, heavy equipment, on and off track maintenance equipment, specialized engineering equipment, front end loaders, road graders, bulldozers, forklifts, tractors, passenger coach electrical systems, HVAC systems, various equipment and components and various shop equipment looking for defective conditions in accordance with applicable regulations, standards, and guidelines.
• Ensure strict compliance with the regulations and applicable laws.
• Signed, documenting and certifying that all repairs were performed and completed in detail and in accordance with applicable rules, regulations, and laws.
• Performs in-depth, comprehensive, and intensive troubleshooting to properly repair and correct defective conditions within the systems and their components utilizing laptop computers and related diagnostic software, electrical test equipment, various types of mechanical gauges, tools, schematics, assembly diagrams, and assorted drawings and manuals.
• Ensure any and all defects have been corrected and all systems are functional as designed and intended.
• Operates various lathes, boring mills, shop tooling, and presses, utilized in the rebuild of railroad wheel sets.
• Operates shears, welders, torches, punch machines, and press brakes, utilized in the design, fabrication, and assembly processes of industry-standard sheet metal and welding fabrication shops.
• Performs repairs/rebuild processes for various electrical components such as generators/alternators and traction motors.
• Responds and assists in emergencies at various locations along the Railbelt.
• Provides necessary Roadway Worker Protection and Blue Signal Protection per Title 49 Transportation, Code of Federal Regulations, and Railroad Operating Practices.

Qualifications: BS in Mechanical Engineering Technology with 5 years of Experience

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification 
• Inter-Provincial Truck and Transport Mechanic certification
• Mechanical experience working on on-road and off-road equipment
• Experience in Engines, Chassis, Driveline, Hydraulic systems, Brakes, A/C systems, and Electronic systems.
• Mechanic experience on a mobile service truck

Qualifications: BS in Industrial Maintenance Technology with 6 years of Experience

• Certification of Pipe Fitting OR Journeyman
• Industrial maintenance experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Prior experience with milling machines, lathes, welders, and other shop equipment
• Experience with OSHA safety practices
• Knowledge of AC/DC and PLCs
• Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize workload
• Ability to set up, tear down, and rebuild machinery and equipment according to blueprints and electrical schematics
• Ability to wear a respirator and to serve on the emergency response team
• Ability to drive and operate a forklift truck

Qualifications: BA in Applied Technical Leadership with 5 years of Experience

• Experience as a maintenance Pipefitter/Welder in an industrial/manufacturing setting
• Experience in pipe fitting and welding, i.e., laying out of pipe run, stainless steel welding, carbon steel welding, stick welding, TIG, MIG, arc, etc
• Previous industrial maintenance experience
• Previous experience in maintenance or repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of the Pipe specs, mechanical tools, bearing heater operation, boilers and operation theory, refrigeration theory, RTO design, HVAC systems, and all aspects of plant security
• Ability to provide own hand tools
• Ability to perform repetitive motion tasks with the upper extremities.
• Ability to work in a Box Plant environment and be exposed to related fumes, odors, dust, gases, etc.
• Ability to perform general pipefitter, electrical, and troubleshooting of instrumentation job tasks

Qualifications: BS in Automotive Technology with 4 years of Experience

• Previous Mobile Technician experience
• Documented Gas/Diesel engine, hydraulic, and/or electrical automotive mechanic experience
• Automotive and/or heavy truck equipment experience
• Knowledge of air brake systems/electrical/ABS/Service Bay Diagnostic Tool. 
• Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and personal computers
• Basic computer knowledge to assist in parts research and time card entries
• Ability to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs
• Ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions
• Ability to work in confined areas and high places.
• Ability to negotiate stairs and ladders.
