- Experience in Structural Steel Erection.
- Working knowledge of basic hand tools (tape measure, square, etc.).
- Ability to install structural steel, connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints using various bolts, nuts, washers, and torqueing.
- Ability to assemble and/or fabricate equipment, structures, towers, vessels, conveyors, etc., from instructions from supervisors and/or prints.
- Ability to modify structural steel by cutting and welding.
- Ability to unload and position prefabricated material and equipment for hoisting.
- Must understand construction risks, be knowledgeable in and follow current safety standards, and report any concerns to their supervisor.
- Willingness to work on aerial equipment (ladder, scissor lift, boom lift, etc.).
4. BA in Applied Mechanics with 6 years of Experience
- Current Weld Certification
- OSHA 10-hour certified
- Experience with various power and hand tools.
- Experience in blueprint reading, layout, shop tools, oxy/acetylene torch, various hand tools, drill press, saw, ironworker, etc.
- Work experience in the Aluminum, Steel, Forging, Ductile Iron, Petrochem, Co-gen, Foundry, or Automotive industries
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
- Ability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays
- Proficient in industry tools and equipment, such as hand and power tools and welding devices
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to understand information, ideas, directions, and then be able to perform the task or project discussed.
