• Coordinates with process engineering to liaise with process engineering on specifications, choice of material, etc.
• Creates preliminary project schedules as a basis to determine project costs and lead times, so estimated milestones can be agreed upon with customers.

• Estimate potential projects based on P&ID/layout design documents.

Job Summary: 

• Responsible for recommending product design changes and reviewing casting design feasibility on all RFQs in a timely manner. 
• Help achieve benchmark levels in quoting lead times while providing accurate estimates in cycle times, capital, tooling, and launch costs.
• Complete casting feasibility analysis and work with the product engineer on completing the feasibility presentation on all RFQs.
• Design initial die concept and full shot model and work with CAD group in completing simulations.
• Define what casting equipment is required by completing tonnage calculations.
• Work with purchasing and vendors to complete RFQs die-cast/trim dies.
• Support in meeting with plant teams, as well as presentations to customers.

• Utilize machined component manufacturing experience to review drawing requirements and identify special requirements or possible processing concerns
• Gather team as required to discuss risk factors and develop the process.
