Job Summary:

  • Directs and provides on-site environmental expertise for Contractor personnel during construction to ensure environmental controls and environmental mitigation measures are implemented and maintained in a timely manner. 
  • Monitor Contractor Construction Work to ensure that activities adhere to project environmental requirements. 
  • Review and understand the Environmental Reference Documents (ERDs) and associated legislative requirements and ensure Contractor construction personnel correctly implement and abide by environmental requirements during construction.

  • Review construction activities and identify areas of environmental concern, and request Resource Specialist support from the Lead EI, when warranted.
  • Provide advanced notice of construction activities (i.e. look ahead) to allow the client to complete necessary notification requirements and ensure Resource Specialists are mobilized with sufficient notice to prevent construction delays.
  • Oversee equipment cleaning, complete cleaning records, and ensure equipment arriving to site meets Project cleaning requirements.
  • Oversee environmental flagging and signage where necessary to meet Project Environmental requirements.
  • Ensure Contractor personnel have required environmental training.
