• Geometric calculations and plotting (cross-sections, profiles, etc.), routine hydraulics calculations, site grading calculations and plotting, computer and CAD systems usage, and research/data collection from public agencies.
• Update drawings and CAD files, as directed by the Engineers to keep them current. Responsible for daily backup of CAD drawings.
• Work with standard CAD specifications, and formats that are required by various private firms and government agencies. 
• Enlarge or reduce drawings to fit a specific scale.
• Help maintain the CAD drawing file project directory.
• Provide day to day track and civil design/CADD support to various railway and industrial rail projects.

• Civil Engineering Technician Requirements
• Willing and available to travel, sometimes for weeks at a time
• Intermediate office computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, email, copying files)
• Mechanical aptitude (basic automotive mechanical knowledge: change a tire, spark plug, or engine oil)

Qualifications: BS in Civil Engineering Technology with 2 years of Experience

• Proficiency in using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) with an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD for production of construction drawings
• Proficiency creating 3D models using Civil 3D
• Ability to work accurately, flexibly and to integrate their work with other discipline areas, whilst working to tight programme and budget constraints
• Ability to communicate fluently with other team members and produce reports in clear English
• Understanding of BIM processes and standards such as BS EN ISO 19650 Part 1
• Experience with Autodesk Infraworks and Vehicle tracking
• Knowledge/experience of using highway design software packages
• Knowledge of DMRB
• Proficiency in using drainage software MicroDrainage
• A good understanding of the CDM Regulations

Qualifications: BS in Construction Technology with 3 years of Experience

• Experience in 3D/2D reinforced concrete detailing
• Experience in large structural steelwork detailing
• Technical experience in civil and maritime works
• Understanding of BIM processes (ISO19650) and its application to projects
• Ability to manage own tasks and ensure delivery meets programme
• Assist in, maintain and develop Revit content 
• Some knowledge of Clash Detection software such as Navisworks/Revizto/Solibri
• Some experience with Common Data Environment platforms such as Asite, BIM360, Viewpoint or Aconex
• Experience in parametric design tools such as Dynamo / Grasshopper or Python is desirable.

Qualifications: BS in Architectural Technology with 4 years of Experience

• Previous experience in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
• Have a basic understanding of civil engineering and surveying practices

• Have work knowledge and previous experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D that includes at a minimum, alignment and profile creation, surface model manipulation, survey data processing, pipe network creation, corridor development, and Civil municipal plan production including plan and profile sheets, cross-sections and construction details.
• Have the ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.
• Have occasional overnight travel may be required

Qualifications: BS in Surveying Technology with 5 years of Experience

• Demonstrate an understanding of highway and drainage design and knowledge of S104, S38, S278 sectional agreements
• Have a pro-active, self-motivated attitude and can demonstrate an enthusiasm to work on a variety of project types and learn new skills
• Understand and use civil engineering design software packages, these would ideally include Causeway PDS, Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD or similar
• Strong communication skills and strong work ethic 
• Must be proactive in self-directed CPD and keep up to date with appropriate standards and regulatory legislation
• Previous experience working in a Civil Engineering Consultancy
• Experience in Water and Wastewater would be beneficial but not essential
• Experience in Civils 3D is essential, experience in AutoCAD 
• General MS Package experience, including Excel and Word
