Reporting to project stakeholders on statutory submissions, the Chartered Building Surveyor attends site meetings and government inspections across a bilingual, English and Cantonese, caseload.

Position Requirements

• Plan, execute, and manage building maintenance work, repair, renovation, fitting-out, and addition and alteration projects from inception to completion.
• Conduct condition surveys, site inspections, and monitor works progress.
• Prepare flexibility reports and arrange statutory submissions.
• Carry out feasibility studies on improvement and upgrading of buildings and facilities in design, contract administration, and project management.
• Attend site meetings and government inspections.

Technical Qualifications

• Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Minimum of three years' working experience in a related industry.
• Well-versed in working drawings, CAD, and contract administration of building developments.
• Holder of a Chartered Membership professional status, such as HKIS or RICS.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Cantonese.

• Undertake building pathology inspection and defect diagnosis.
• Liaise with the various parties involved in a dispute to gather the relevant information required to carry out detailed analysis.
• Analyze large quantities of data, including drawings, contract documents, and correspondence between parties involved in a dispute.
• Assess and determine where faults have been made and the issues surrounding them, including whether the fault is architectural, engineering, or workmanship related.
• Write reports based on findings, supported by facts.
• Identify, manage, and communicate defects and workmanship, design, and specification issues to the appointing client.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experienced and well-rounded Building Surveying background.
