Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of manufacturing quality inspection experience in automotive, medical device, or related industry.
• Competent in portable arm CMM utilizing PC-DMIS software and hand measurement tools including micrometer, height gage, and pi-tape.
• Ability to read engineering drawings with expertise in ASME Y14.5M (GD and T).
• General understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Knowledge of materials, calibration, auditing techniques, and basic statistical terms and techniques.
• Knowledge of the Deming Cycle (PDCA) and basic quality terms, definitions, and concepts.
• Must understand types of measurements, terminology, measurement techniques, and the concept of traceability.
• Familiar with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures in a matrixed organization.

As the Calibration Technician, this role delivers routine and complex calibration and repair services for test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment at both customer locations and the service center. The Tektronix calibration team relies on this work to achieve customer satisfaction through accurate data entry, ISO-compliant documentation, and independent leadership of onsite calibration events that uphold quality management system standards.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Achieve customer satisfaction through completion of calibration services within expected timeframes as assigned.
• Accurately enter data into tracking database and create calibration data sheets efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Complete all documentation supporting customer requirements, reporting, ISO, and other quality systems.
• Perform moderate to high complexity calibrations across PD, GP, and RF measurement areas.
• Interact with customers for items requiring repair or limited calibration and function as the primary customer representative as needed.
• Perform basic repairs, preventive maintenance, and budget and datasheet creation.
• Plan, oversee, and lead onsite calibration events independently, escalating complex issues to supervisors when appropriate.
• Implement FBS improvements including Daily Scheduling, Visual Management, Kaizen Charters, and intermediate problem-solving.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 4-6 years of related calibration experience.
• Proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office, and Internet applications with an emphasis on Excel.
• Excellent customer service skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work on semi-routine assignments and perform calibration by alternate acceptable methods.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel as needed for training and to support customer calibration requirements.
