Building Engineer Knowledge, Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of two years of related experience and/or trade school training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years building maintenance experience.
  • Thorough knowledge in all building systems operations, maintenance and repair.
  • Appropriate license/permit for trade as may be required, i.e. Journeyman or Master Electrician License or City Licenses, such as Refrigeration Certificate of Fitness, High Pressure Boiler License, High Pressure Steam Operator, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable in energy management systems, techniques, and operations.
  • Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Building Inspector Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (substitution available) in Engineering, Architectural, Construction or Management curriculums or 6 years of work experience (substitute: Associates Degree plus 4 years work experience)
  • 3+ years of work experience
  • Experience working with US military or Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle, navigating throughout Dyess AFB on both paved and gravel roads
  • Ability to plan, organize, and lead others in studies, designs, and construction projects, as well as record and manage the processes and documentation

Building Maintenance Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Proactive in reporting all alarms or energy systems problems to Director Engineering and Property Manager as instructed
  • Daily contact with the general public and must be able to relate to physicians needs and emergency situations in timely manner

Building Maintenance Engineer Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with some college or technical training on Mechanical systems
  • Universal HVAC certification preferred
  • Strong customer service skills, dealing with tenants, administration, vendors

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years' experience in general building maintenance and grounds work
  • Two years' experience in supervising maintenance or grounds staff
  • Required Licenses or Certifications: A driver license with a good driving record is required
  • Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure
