AUDIOLOGIST JOB DESCRIPTION

We are hiring an Audiologist who will perform routine audiological assessments and interventions following established protocols, including diagnosing hearing conditions, providing rehabilitation services, and managing patient cases. They will maintain accurate records and reports in accordance with professional and ethical standards. This role requires proof of qualification and eligibility for full membership. Continuous professional development and skill enhancement in new and complex clinical areas through specified training programs are expected. Audiologists will contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures, and protocols, and participate in quality and service improvement activities to enhance patient care. They will also employ evidence-based practices for clinical decision-making.

An Overview of Audiologist Job Description Responsibilities and Qualifications

1. As a dispensing Audiologist in private practice, you will have the autonomy to build and maintain patient relationships from the initial consultation through to the successful resolution of their hearing challenges. This includes providing personalized counseling, fitting and dispensing hearing aids, and offering continuous follow-up care to ensure optimal hearing outcomes.

Audiologist Skills, Experience, Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Audiology (or equivalent) or HIS Certification, licensed by CASLPO/AHIP and ADP.
  • Preferred but not mandatory; we are ready to train the right candidate.
  • Familiarity with WSIB, VAC, ODSP, ADP, and NIHB procedures.
  • Strong sales skills and ability to demonstrate value in customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills (French preferred for the Ottawa clinic).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and counsel patients based on their specific needs.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.

2. The Audiologist will perform comprehensive diagnostic audiometric tests, provide patient counseling on treatment options, and recommend hearing aids and listening devices. Additionally, they will offer exceptional customer service, evaluate patient medical histories, fit and adjust hearing aids, and check for ear abnormalities.

Audiologist Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high level of customer service with a high volume of patients.
  • Collect and evaluate medical history from patients.
  • Conduct complete diagnostic audiometric testing, counsel patients on treatment options
  • Make recommendations for hearing aids, amplification devices, and listening technologies.
  • Take ear impressions, properly fit and modify ear molds, and order instruments.
  • Programing, fitting, adjust hearing aids utilizing best practices including real ear measurements.
  • Examine the outer portion of the ear for abnormalities and the presence of excessive ear wax


Audiologist Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • A Doctor of Audiology (Au.D) or a Master's Degree in Audiology from an accredited college or university.
  • Current and unrestricted license in Audiology.
  • Ability to provide a comprehensive battery of tests with measures of test/retest reliability.
  • New grads welcome.
  • Ability to multitask and work on several projects with deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of the healthcare industry and the different global markets.
  • Advanced sales capabilities.
  • Passion for sharing and brainstorming new ideas.
  • Willingness and ability to learn about new healthcare technologies and tools.
