• Maintains and utilizes a current knowledge base in lactation and maternal-child care to contribute to optimal health.
• Collaborates with others to maintain and update efficient program operations.
• Counsels lactating mothers on an inpatient and outpatient basis for the Children’s Hospital Lactation Counseling Center.
• Be responsible for identifying prenatal care, lactation counseling, and infant care education/support group needs in the community and for assisting with the Center’s program development and program implementation in these areas.
• Designs and implements education programs and community outreach activities.
• Be responsible for the knowledge and skills to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety, and related criteria for the neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population
