• Assists in campus event set-up, loads and unloads furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials

• Incumbent ensures quality control by hand sorting recyclable materials and trash from the recycling area.
• Be responsible for ensuring unacceptable materials are separated from recycling bins so that the recycling materials are acceptable for California Redemption Value at best.
• Monitors all waste, recycling, and compost campus-wide.

• Manually picks up windblown paper from the periphery of the landfill.
• Carries a large plastic trash bag and walks along the fenced border of the landfill, as well as on exterior land adjacent to the public property.
• Pulls paper from the fence and lifts loose paper from the ground, depositing refuse in the bag until full.
• Uses a mobile vacuum to gather loose paper and refuse.
• Drives a tractor pulling a vacuum along the fenced border of the landfill, as well as on the exterior land adjacent to the public property.
• Grasps the vacuum hose handle and guides it to vacuum loose paper from the fence and ground.
• Repeat these steps, working around the outer edge of the landfill.
• Communicates with the drivers verbally or by hand signals.
• Lifts construction materials for projects related to site maintenance, i.e., lumber, bags of concrete mix, hand tools, etc.

• Assists in setting forms, mixing and pouring concrete, spreading and laying asphalt, or spreading crack seal for the maintenance and repair of sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, or streets.
• Assists in laying various pipes for storm or sanitary sewers, drains, or water mains to ensure proper flow is maintained.
• Loads and unloads tools, construction material, and equipment onto trucks to ensure necessary tools are available for repairs to be made.
• Operates an air/jackhammer to break out old concrete or asphalt when making repairs.
• Flags traffic, sets out barricades, cones, or other safety devices to help ensure the safety of the crew and the public.
• Digs ditches and trenches grading to specific evaluation, trims, shovels, cuts, and cleans up debris and removes vegetation.
