Qualifications: BS in Mechanical Engineering with 9 years of Experience

• Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance
• Understanding of applicable federal laws, regulations, building/fire codes, executive orders, and DOE Orders related to fire protection and highly protected risk concepts
• Understanding of intent and the independent and interdependent relationship between applicable building codes, fire codes, and national consensus codes and standards
• Experience using and interpreting the IBC and its referenced codes/standards (e.g., NFPA) applicable to a diverse set of operations that include hazardous, industrial, business, assembly, and storage occupancies
• Strong knowledge of the NFPA requirements associated with inspection, maintenance and testing of fire protection systems
• Professional experience in fire protection engineering work
• Experience mentioned above should be in facilities and/or maintenance operations, system engineering, and design/construction of mechanical systems
• Experience in a high-hazard industry involving the manufacture of process safety chemicals or combustible dust
• Strong problem-solving skills and the application of problem-solving tools such as cause mapping, fault tree analysis, and DMAIC 
• Experience conducting Process Hazard Analysis, Combustible Dust Hazard Analysis, Failure Modes Effects Analysis or pro-active risk identification and assessment methodologies 

Qualifications: BS in Fire Science with 4 years of Experience

• Demonstrated experience with the International Building Code and the NFPA C
