Dental Hygiene Specialist Functions:
- Establish and maintain an excellent standard of care and patient experience
- Understand patient's wants, needs, and goals
- Build relationships with patients
- Conduct oral cancer, periodontal, and caries screenings
- Identify and treat periodontal conditions
- Educate patients on the importance of how their oral health relates to their overall health
- Record detailed progress notes of treatment recommended and provided
- Recommend adjunctive services to prevent disease and maintain health
- Detail-oriented with clinical notes and charting
Dental Hygiene Specialist Education and Experience:
- Has a good understanding of the importance of probing each patient, and periodontal disease treatment
- Has the ability to present treatment plans with good verbiage
- Has a preventative care mindset
- An anesthesia license is a bonus but not required
- Friendly, outgoing & approachable nature with lots of patience
- Ability to educate in a positive encouraging manner
