Job Summary: 

• Perform basic field testing of corrosion control systems on underground metallic structures
• Installation of new corrosion control systems and/or inspecting the installation of new systems and documenting these activities
• Monitor, Operate, Repair, and Maintain natural gas pipeline and related corrosion control devices and systems
• Monitor corrosion test stations, rectifiers, bonds, and related corrosion control devices by taking readings (including pipe to soil differentials), documenting those readings, and diagnosing/troubleshooting 
• Assist with installation of corrosion mitigation systems
• Assist in coordinating all maintenance of the cathodic protection/corrosion prevention system in assigned area
• Liaison with operations from a corrosion related technical aspect and assist
• Inspect, maintain and trouble-shoot natural gas pipeline facilities including, cathodic protection equipment and systems (rectifiers and ground-beds), corrosion control systems and methodology, and pipeline integrity procedures, practices and technologies.
• Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of facilities relative to the assigned discipline(s).
• Work closely with pipeline/plant personnel, technicians in the same or other disciplines, and contract personnel.

Job Summary: 

• Utilizes corrosion related testing equipment and methods to evaluate company owned pipelines, tanks, and facilities for corrosion and corrosion related defects and adequacy of the cathodic protection program
• Develops and implements plans to remedy any deficiencies
• Measurement and troubleshooting of rectifiers used in Cathodic Protection
• Completes cathodic protection corrosion surveys
• Interprets internal corrosion data collected from coupons and liquid samples
• Maintain records for all surveys, tests, work progress reports in accordance with state, federal and company policies
• Conduct proper atmospheric inspections on company owned and operated assets in accordance with state, federal, and company policies
• Participate in PHMSA, state and internal audits
• Participate in corrosion related local correlation committee meetings
• Participate in NACE functions, including local chapter meetings and area conferences

• Ensure integrity of pipeline systems through standard industry utilized corrosion prevention techniques.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including Operator Qualification requirements.
• Maintain compliance with all pipeline corrosion control requirements set forth by the regulatory agencies that govern Motiva’s assets.
• Manage and/or conduct all annual cathodic protection surveys and the correction of any findings.
• Manage and/or conduct all bi-monthly rectifier and critical bond inspection and the correction of any findings.
