Civil Design Engineer Knowledge and Requirements:
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of technical plans and drawings;
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or correction of drawings;
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction
- The Civil Designer 4 must be able to interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs

2. The Civil Designer produces detailed civil and plant construction drawings, supporting multidisciplinary project execution, technical coordination, and design quality to ensure efficient and compliant project delivery.
Civil Designer Duties:
- Detailed layout, design and production of drawings encompassing all aspects of a plant construction package in accordance with relevant standards and project requirements

3. The Civil Draftsman develops accurate civil and structural shop drawings, supporting project design coordination, construction documentation, and quantity analysis to ensure timely and high-quality project execution.
Civil Draftsman Functions:
- Prepare shop drawings based on the design engineer/coordinator’s instructions in order to help him meet the project’s requirements in terms of quality and time.
- Draft structural drawings, formwork, reinforcement, shop drawings and quantity surveying.
- Collect comments of relevant parties (design engineers, design coordinator, etc…) on prepared shop-drawings and make appropriate adjustments to ensure high quality standards of work in conformity with set specifications.
- Review, adjust and plot drawings made by engineers to improve relevant visibility/legibility.
- Coordinate with printing companies, supervise and control the printing process when outsourced to guarantee the good quality of shop drawings.
- Provide assistance to the estimation and business development units in preparing prequalification documents.
- Provide technical assistance to document controller so that to ensure a proper filing, archiving and retrieval of project’s specific documents and drawings.

Civil Draftsman Requirements:
- BA degree in drafting.

4. The Civil Engineer supports the design and delivery of utility and infrastructure projects, contributing to civil site development, multidisciplinary engineering coordination, and construction execution to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project outcomes.
Civil Engineer Duties:
- Assist in the evaluation, selection and application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to site development projects
- Design for grading and drainage, erosion control, and stormwater that may include analysis, calculations, research, selection, layout, etc necessary to develop required design documents
- Utilize knowledge of departmental design standards and applicable engineering codes to review prepared drawings and documents for conformance; work with civil designers to ensure quality procedures are followed

Civil Engineering Intern Requirements:

6. The Civil Engineering Technologist supports municipal infrastructure and water-related projects through technical design, drafting, and engineering coordination, contributing to accurate project delivery and sustainable community development.
Civil Engineering Technologist Duties:
- Execute design calculations for sanitary storm sewers and watermain also using computer assisted software programs
- Responsible for preparing and drawing detailed design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

7. The Civil Estimator prepares accurate project cost estimates and quotation analyses, supporting contract acquisition, production planning, and customer responsiveness to drive efficient and competitive project delivery.
Civil Estimator Roles:
- Receives customer generated requests for quotations (RFQ’s), reviews engineering drawings, specifications, and available tooling in order to develop costing information for development of quotations
- Performs analysis of operations required for fabrication or assembly of parts and determines if the capability and capacity exist in house or will be done at an outside supplier
- Obtains quotations for materials and operations/processes that will be sub-contracted
- Prepares cost analysis by recapitulating material, labor, overhead, tooling, inspection, and non-recurring engineering costs incurred in the processing or assembly of part(s

8. The Construction Civil Inspector performs field inspection and construction oversight for civil infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, construction quality, and safe execution across active job sites.
Construction Civil Inspector Responsibilities:
- Perform routine field inspections for the purpose of verifying conformance to construction plans and specifications.
- Monitor, observe, and record the work performed on a daily basis.

9. The Senior Civil Inspector oversees construction inspection activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring quality compliance, construction accuracy, and safe project execution to support reliable and sustainable utility systems.
Senior Civil Inspector Duties:
- Inspects construction contract related to water and wastewater facilities
- Reviews contract plans and specifications for constructability, notes, errors, omissions and potential problem areas
- Schedules, plans, coordinates, and completes site inspections

- Working knowledge of methods of soil compaction and density testing procedures, properties and uses of concrete, and techniques of handling, placing, curing and sampling concrete
- Working knowledge of methods of installation of underground piping, plumbing and drainage systems including methods for trench safety, excavation, bedding, installation, backfill and testing, mechanical valves, above-ground process piping and pipe support systems, manual and automatic valves of all types, mechanical process equipment found in wastewater treatment plants & facilities, all types of pump assemblies and installation of same, horizontal, vertical, centrifugal, etc., testing, start up and commissioning of process equipment and systems

Project Civil Engineer Functions:

Project Civil Engineer Requirements:
- HNC or Degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Site Civil Engineer within the civil engineering construction industry preferably on highways and structure schemes.

Civil Project Manager Roles:
- Concurrently manages a variety of civil engineering Public Works projects
- Tracks project scope, budgets and schedules to ensure fulfillment of contract commitments and profitability

- Uses technical knowledge to prepare PS&E for transportation (roadway and intersection widening, street rehab, streetscape improvements, complete streets, etc), storm drain (hydrology and hydraulics), water quality BMPs, sanitary sewer, and water pipelines

Civil Project Manager Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college
- A California PE license
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Civil Engineering specifically pertaining to Public Works projects
- Minimum 2 years' of project management experience pertaining to Public Works projects
- Experience managing project budgets
- Previous experience working with the City of LA preferred

12. The Civil Site Engineer manages on-site civil execution and technical coordination for wastewater treatment projects, driving construction compliance, schedule adherence, and project delivery through effective site supervision and stakeholder collaboration.
Civil Site Engineer Roles:
- Ensure all technical aspects of the projects are strictly complied with and in conformity with Conditions of Contract,
- Specifications, General Specifications, Contract Drawings & BOQ.

13. The Civil Structural Engineer leads structural and civil engineering design for high-voltage utility substations, delivering compliant, resilient, and technically sound infrastructure solutions that support safe and reliable power system operations.
Civil Structural Engineer Roles:
- Prepare project documentation and deliverables in accordance with company project and Engineering Design Practices (i.e. evaluation reports, specifications, proposals, estimates, design basis', calculations, hazard logs, test plans).
- Prepare design work packages including scope, duration, and level of effort estimates.
- Prepare signed/sealed engineering deliverables as a Professional of Record (PoR) in accordance with EGBC and client Design Practices.

Civil Structural Engineer Abilities, Experience and Requirements:
- University graduate in Civil/Structural Engineering
- A minimum eight (8) years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
- Strong in structural engineering (more emphasis on this than civil background)
- Be registered with EGBC or a P.Eng who has worked in BC. Candidates who do not meet this requirement likely wont be considered as they wouldn't experience with BC seismic building codes (BC is an earthquake zone)
- Experience in stations design
- Experience in a hydroelectrical utility or experience working on hydroelectrical utility projects is an asset
- Ability to provide technical directions to junior engineers
- Ability to manage design tasks including scope, schedule and cost
- Ability to find engineering solutions that add value and to reach consensus
- Ability to communicate efficiently including verbal and technical writing in the English language, analytical, interpersonal communications and presentation skills

14. The Civil Superintendent leads civil construction execution and contractor coordination across project sites, driving safe delivery, engineering compliance, and construction progress to support successful project completion.
Civil Superintendent Functions:
- Deliver the technical tasks and monitor the progress of the external service providers in the delivery of engineering deliverables and materials to site. In addition to support and assist the civil works on site.
- To Work with the Engineering and Construction Teams to deliver the civil scope within Projects and produce Civil Engineering designs.
- Supervising Contractor staff to ensure work complies with Project Specifications and Design.
- A full understanding of civil design documentation and associated Codes and Standards.

15. The Civil Supervisor leads safe and reliable operations across three standalone GenGas facilities, driving maintenance execution, site performance, and customer support to ensure continuous operational efficiency and compliance.
Civil Supervisor Responsibilities:
- A Generated Gases Site Supervisor must be self-motivated, self-driven, safety conscious, a good communicator and possess good organization, operating, and mechanical skills

Civil Supervisor Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:
- Experience on operation of Air Separation Units (ASUs) is a plus but not a specific requirement as training will be provided for the successful candidate
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently but equally able to work effectively in a team environment
- Demonstrated computer experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two- or four-year degree in a technical field a plus, but not required
- 2 years of relevant operations experience is preferred
- Teammate that is flexible with a positive attitude
- Must be willing to work alone
- Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs

16. The Civil Technician supports telecom construction and grounding system installations, executing field operations, site preparation, and infrastructure work to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Civil Technician Duties:
- Install, connect and test underground and above ground grounding systems
- Moderate flat-work concrete forming, pouring and finishing
- Carpentry and miscellaneous trade skills
- Landscaping, grading, and fence building as necessary
- Work with Construction Supervisors and Civil Crew Lead to analyze job requirements such as labor and materials
- Complete work in a timely and efficient manner as delegated by Construction Supervisors and Civil Crew Lead
- Work with Construction Supervisors and Civil Crew Lead to maintain a safe job site
- Assist fellow employees in completing tasks on a teamwork basis
- Must be able to work overtime to include Saturdays, Sundays and evening hours
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Civil Technician Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED preferred;
- and 1+ years of construction experience
- or 2+ years construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
- Knowledge and ability to read blueprints, details and specifications required
- Commercial/residential electrical experience preferred
- Cald-weld or other thermo-weld training preferred
- AC/DC power and back up battery system experience preferred
- Domestic Travel - may be required to travel depending upon the location in which the position is required to work
- Valid Government Issued Driver's License
- Health Services\Drivers License - MDOT Medical Physical
