• Configure and maintain uptime of all network switches, routers, wireless access points, servers, firewalls, and PDUs.
• Set up different testing topologies and write and verify test scripts.
• Help the development team re-create topologies for customer issues.
• Perform system administration, including configuring and provisioning Linux, Windows, and other virtualization environments.
• Automate workflows using scripting languages and tools such as Ansible, Ruby, and Python.
• Troubleshoot common networking problems.
• Develop and maintain a resource reservation system.

Education & Experience

• CCNA or CCNP certification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in network support and in setting up lab infrastructure.
• Working experience with network protocols, including DNS, DHCP, and VLAN, as well as IP address management and routing.
• Working knowledge of scripting languages.
• Experience with various networking tools, including packet generation and capture tools.

Reporting to network operations leadership, the Cisco Network Engineer administers and maintains network capabilities across LAN and WAN environments, performing Cisco IOS NX-OS and Juniper code upgrades and troubleshooting Layer 3 protocols including EIGRP and OSPF over GRE tunnels. Partnering with infrastructure teams and working within STIG guidelines, this role evaluates network changes for operational impact and develops the records management processes that sustain long-term network reliability.

Background & Experience

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or 2 or more additional years of related experience instead of a degree.
• CCNA or CCNP certification.
• JNCIA-Junos or JNCIS-ENT certification.
• 8 or more years of network engineering experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience with Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and Juniper platforms.
• Good understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting and technologies.
• Familiarity with hardware and software diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds.
