CHEMICAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Chemical Analyst Roles:

• Performs laboratory functions for daily production as well as R&D tasks.
• Performs chemical analysis, mechanical testing, and metallography.
• Assists in other laboratory functions, such as heat-treating and cleaning, minor metal working, sample preparation, and other material processing operations as needed.
• Performs minor equipment preventative maintenance, as needed.
• Provides process analysis in a group laboratory environment.
• Performs data entry of analysis results and maintains testing database(s).
• Performs dimensional inspection of production and sample material, as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Chemical Analyst Experience and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. College experience in relevant technical areas (mathematics, chemistry, material science, any engineering discipline) is helpful.
• Prior laboratory experience in chemical analysis, mechanical testing, safe chemical handling, and general knowledge of metallurgical laboratory procedures is a plus but is not required.
• Some exposure to ISO 9001 Quality System is helpful.
• Must have demonstrated mechanical aptitude, be highly analytical with acceptable writing and record-keeping skills.
• Must have good visual acuity and color vision.
• Must be computer literate and have excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
• Must be willing to work either 2nd or 3rd shifts. Must be willing to work overtime and / or twelve hour shifts as needed to provide additional lab coverage.
• Practical knowledge of PC functions (Excel and Word).

Chemical Counselor Functions:

• Provide screening and assessment services.
• Provide Individual and Group Counseling Sessions as directed.
• Document all services in accordance to established policies and procedures.
• Attend all staff training sessions and meetings as directed.
• Any other duties of a reasonable nature deemed necessary by the Executive Director.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Professional.
• Provides effective individual, group and family counseling.
• Obtains accurate intake information and accurately assesses client status and needs.
• Prepares treatment and discharge plans in response to individual client needs.
• Adheres to agency and DSHS established documentation standards.

Chemical Counselor Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• No history of violent assault, domestic violence or crimes of a sexual nature.
• Must not have a criminal record involving theft of property.

Chemical Engineer Details:

• Provide technical support in process troubleshooting and recommend appropriate countermeasures for process efficiency improvement
• Conduct investigations and analyze plant trouble issues, and identify areas which require improvement or appropriate corrective actions
• Facilitate trial production to support product improvement and development
• Identify areas of opportunities for process improvement, modification and optimization ideas
• Conduct HAZOP studies and ensure safe operation of the manufacturing process
• Provide technical support in quality investigations and studies
• Perform regular inspection and ensure optimal condition of manufacturing equipment
• Conduct training to technicians on manufacturing process and equipment

Chemical Engineer Experience and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 1 year of relevant experience

• Effective team player with good communication and presentation skills

Chemical Manager Duties:

• Use your natural resources or chemicals industry knowledge and technical expertise to decipher clients’ needs in SAP Industry Solutions for Natural Resources/Chemicals.

Chemical Manager Experience and Educations:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in SAP (ECC and/or S4HANA) or Industry Solution for Chemicals/Metals/Mining/Forest Products
• At least 3 years of business development experience within SAP
• Strong SAP transformation, advisory or consulting experience and demonstrated success in a dynamic career path
• Experience engaging with Senior executives on defining future state vision, business case and transformation roadmaps
• Experience leading or contributing to sales pursuits for technology/SAP related work
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years' work experience). If Associate’s Degree, must have equivalent minimum 6-year work experience
• You have experience in a client-facing consulting role
• Ability to define and communicate the “big picture” in terms of the overall integrated solution (both functional and technical components) and break it down into smaller manageable work units

Chemical Operator Roles:

• Maintain compliance with all health, safety, environmental procedures and guidelines
• Receive materials into the limited access warehouse (LAW) per the appropriate procedures
• Prepare for production, raw material, staging and weighing
• Be able to perform all the manufacturing duties per the associated work instruction including set-up, operation and cleaning manufacturing equipment
• Perform all necessary SAP transactions
• Package final product & prepare shipments
• Complete all GMP documentation
• General housekeeping in the GMP production area

Chemical Operator Experience and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Willing to work rotating shifts, holidays and overtime, as may be required; this is a rotating shift position
• Demonstrates good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs on a regular basis
• Must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude
• Ability to clearly record observations in a written form
• Ability to follow and complete written directions
• Need to be able to work around strong magnets
• GMP or Chemical Manufacturing experience
• Fork lift experience
• General Computer experience

Chemical Specialist Responsibilities:

• Consults with customer production lines and manufacturing groups to understand demand forecasts; schedules material lots and reviews pricing.
• Serves as a liaison between the customer and supplier for product sourcing.
• Enters inventory, purchasing, and QC data into applicable Avantor and customer systems; assists in 3rd party vendor and item set-up.
• Assists in qualifying new suppliers not through Avantor.
• Reviews and interprets contracts.
• Responsible for standing order set-up and maintenance within Avantor and customer systems for planning.
• Coordinates material delivery and set-up/installation; assists with emergency deliveries.
• Change Notification compliance – updates engineering change orders, part# updates, adding/deleting materials when needed.
• Liaison for customer to negotiate pricing with Avantor and non- Avantor suppliers seeking beneficial supplier agreements.
• Provides reporting on material planning, open order, metrics, etc.
• Ensures compliance to FDA, CGMP and ISO9000.
• Works with appropriate parties to resolve nonconformance issues for raw materials; documents complaints, supplier investigation, root cause analysis of non-conformance, supplier corrective action (SCAR), and pre-planned deviations.
• Processes International, domestic and capital orders; reconciles invoices.
• Provides audit support and attends vendor shows as needed.
• Provides general Customer Service assistance: order processing, quotes, sample requests, returns, billing resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Chemical Specialist Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• High school diploma required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain desirable
• 1-2 years of procurement, expediting, order management, and/or business experience
• Proven order management, forecasting knowledge, and/or expediting experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite (Expert level skills in Excel and Access)
• SAP experience highly desirable.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently to prioritize multiple competing tasks
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Formal problem solving training highly desirable.
• Familiarity with contracts desirable.

Chemical Technician Roles:

• Performs routine changing of solvents, etch tanks fluids, photo developer, and resist bottles to ensure a ready supply of fresh chemicals
• Prepares, pours, and maintains various chemicals, developing solutions, and etchants
• Manages, monitors, and stocks chemical supplies; informs purchasing when inventory is low or needs to be replenished
• Properly disposes of chemicals to ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety requirements
• Responds to chemical spills quickly and according to established procedures; participates in the Emergency Response team
• Responds to inquiries from other team members, managers, or departments
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required
• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level

Chemical Technician Knowledge and Experience:

• Knowledge and ability to handle, maintain, and properly dispose of hazardous chemicals, solvents, or similar compounds
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions regarding appropriate chemical handling procedures
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of consultants, employees, management, and vendors
• Able to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management
• Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Able to comply with all clean room protocols and procedures for handling hazardous chemicals
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
• Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
• High School or General Education Diploma (GED)
• Experience working in a semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing environment or similar industry
• Experience working with and disposing of chemicals, solvents, or similar compounds
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications

Formulation Chemist Responsibilities:

• Conducting and analyzing experiments on organic and inorganic substances to determine and evaluate their chemical and physical properties and to investigate their applications to industry
• Applying and interpreting standard scientific theories, concepts and techniques
• Completing basic projects independently, drawing conclusions with guidance, and reproducing and articulating results and their meaning, including business impact
• Supporting product or process demonstrations
• Identifying and developing solutions to problems where causal relationships can be identified, and some precedence may exist
• Documenting test results and making process improvement recommendations
• Documenting project updates and executing projects using project management methodologies
• Fulfilling responsibilities as required by the Quality System for the site/business unit
• Working in a safe and efficient manner
• Managing and completing multiple projects independently, drawing conclusions, articulating results and their meaning, including value propositions and business impact

Formulation Chemist Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• 1+ years of experience in an industrial lab
• Proficiency in MS Office spreadsheet, word processing, and presentations
• Ability to communicate effectively and coachable on communicating with all levels within the organization and external customer contacts
• Exude a team approach to accomplishing goals
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with maintaining organization
• Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work successfully without close supervision
• Must be comfortable lifting and moving up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
