• Experience in the spiritual care of psychiatric and AODA patients, conducting spiritual groups and providing spiritual support to individual patients of all faiths.
• Good standing in their faith tradition, as evidenced by ecclesiastical endorsement
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of spiritual care practices and general office practices, including records management.
• Familiarity with current medical ethical issues and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Dignity Health Facilities.
• A basic understanding of all denominations, and faiths and sensitivity to diverse cultures

Qualifications: BA in Theology with 8 years of Experience

• Knowledge of theology, religious traditions, practices and beliefs, and spirituality
• Pastoral or chaplaincy experience in nursing homes, prisons or jails, colleges and universities, the military (include "church" and "hospital" in the list), or related institutional settings.
• One or more units of accredited Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
• Holding licensure or certification as a Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC), a Certified Clinical Chaplain (CCC), or an Associate Certified Chaplain (ACC) from one of the nationally recognized Chaplain organizations - Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Veterans Affairs Chaplains, or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, etc.
• Ability to retain personal confidence and guard Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Ability to provide spiritual care, pastoral care, and/or religious rites to persons of varying or no religious faith traditions and practices.

Qualifications: BA in Divinity with 6 years of Experience

• Demonstrates competency in conducting assessments of patients/families’ spiritual needs and concerns.
• Demonstrates competency in being able to relate to and sensitively serve patients of differing religious and spiritual backgrounds and orientations and belief systems.
• Able to provide spiritual support, education and leadership to hospice staff and volunteers.

Qualifications: BA in Religious Studies with 4 years of Experience

Qualifications: BA in Philosophy with 5 years of Experience

• Background in Divinity, Theology, or related field from a seminary or graduate school accredited by the Association of Theological Schools.
• Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) are accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' Committee on Certification and Accreditation, or the Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE).
• Ordination, licensure, or commissioning to pastoral ministry. 
• Endorsement stating good standing within one's faith tradition or community must be maintained.
• Certification by and continued membership in any one (or more) of the following professional organizations: American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), Association of Professional Chaplains (APC), National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC), Canadian Association for Pastoral Practice and Education (CAPPE), National Association of Jewish Chaplains (NAJC)
• Board-certified status or moving toward certification by any of the certifying agencies previously named within two years of the hire date.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook 
• Demonstrated capacity and willingness to learn new computer programs
• Superior skills in interpersonal communication, including training in crisis intervention.
• Education, training, and experience in patient counseling with skills in dealing with ethical, religious, and spiritual dimensions of loss, illness, bereavement, and other areas relevant to ministry in the clinical setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Ethical and Religious Directives of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, medical ethics, and issues common to end-of-life decision-making.
