Job Summary: 

• Perform line avionics work specializing in navigation, radio, radar systems, and other electronic systems, including installation, calibration, etc.
• Read and interpret wire schematics and blue prints and be familiar with applicable FAA regulations.
• Maintain a working knowledge of airworthiness standards and FAA regulations
• Accurate completion of data on forms, tags, work instructions and other required documentation used in performance of their job duties.
• Perform corrective action and technician sign-off on discrepancy and computerized maintenance forms for all articles undergoing maintenance. 
• All corrective sign-offs will be documented referencing acceptable and/or approved data.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine maintenance schedule and requirements
• Performs avionics installations as assigned by Avionics Supervisor
• Performs calibrations and certifications in compliance with FAA Repair Station standards
• Performs inspections and return to service as specified under the FAA Repair Station Roster
• Researches and answers aircraft helpdesk issues

Job Summary: 

• Troubleshoots, repairs, services, modifies, tests, inspects, and performs “on equipment” maintenance on aircraft electrical and integrated avionics equipment on associated T-38 aircraft.
• Maintains aircraft electrical systems, instruments, automatic flight controls, inertial and standard navigation, weather radar, fire protection, GPWS (Ground Proximity Warning System) and associated communication systems.
• Maintains radio equipment to include high frequency (HF), very high frequency (VHF), and ultra-high frequency (UHF) radios, secure voice auxiliary components, transponders and radar systems.
• Works from manufacture’s specifications, schematics, block diagrams, and technical orders, determines the operation of circuits, analyses the schematic layout; and understand system components.
• Maintains enhanced station keeping equipment (ESKE), tactical airborne navigation (TACAN), Automatic direction finding (ADF), auto-pilot, and stability augmentation systems.
• Assists with launching, recovering, servicing, and ground-handling of aircraft.
• Coordinating, planning, and performing systems integration activities on the flight vehicle, ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with engineering data, manufacturer’s publications, and FAA guidelines
• Collaborating with engineering during system integrations, initial systems checks, and flight operations to troubleshoot and execute repairs to all electrical systems
• Leading small teams during the avionics/electrical portion of systems integration and assist in other subsystems 
• Fabricating high quality, high-reliability wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies for cockpit systems integration, flight control system installation, fuel and lifting gas management systems, and ESC/BMS controls
• Reading, interpreting, and working from drawings and controlled documentation including wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and mechanical drawings for the assembly and integration of wiring harnesses
